Who we share it with
We only share what's needed:
- Skippers, coaches and crew on the events you book — for example your name, experience and safety details.
- Clubs and teams you join — your membership and, where you allow it, your profile and bookings.
- Service providers that help us run Unity Sailing: payments (Stripe), email, SMS and WhatsApp delivery, website hosting and analytics (Google). They act on our instructions.
- Authorities, where the law requires it or in an emergency.
We never sell your personal information. Some providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, appropriate safeguards are in place.
How long we keep it
We keep account and booking information while you have an account and for as long as needed afterwards to meet legal and accounting requirements (normally six years for financial records). Safety information is kept only as long as it's needed for upcoming events and your training record.

You can ask to access, correct or delete your information, object to or restrict how we use it, or ask for a copy to take elsewhere. You can withdraw consent at any time — for example by unsubscribing from emails or changing your cookie settings. Many details can be updated yourself in your dashboard profile.
To make a request, email team@unitysailing.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
